Extra murals

Wonderland offers a selection of extra-mural activities, specifically selected to compliment our curriculum and develop the children's skill while still having fun.

Curriculum-Based Extra Murals. These are included in the school fees and all the children participate.

Kwanda Kids

The Best Beginnings program also includes a perceptual motor program, especially developed for pre-school children at every different age and developmental phase. This program focuses on all forms of motor and muscle development – including small detail such as eye tracking.

Individual assessments are done twice per year and the results are reported to parents, complete with individually-tailored exercises. Even babies receive their own, made-for-babies individual lessons and gentle assessments. Suggested activities are repeated throughout the week and children learn quickly through repetition.

Kwanda Kids is presented by a Child Biokineticist (Kinderkineticist) with master’s degree in Human Movement Science.

Upbeat

Upbeat is from the preschool syllabus for music school Major on Minors.

We believe that besides the pure enjoyment children derive from it, music provides cognitive benefits that support children’s early development, including:

  • Music that increases toddler’s sensory development
  • Music can improve literacy and numeracy
  • Music is a mood lifter
  • Music helps toddlers build coordination
  • Music can help toddlers develop their vocabulary

Optional extra murals

Karate 4 Kids

Karate 4 Kids is presented by Stuart Hulley, who has been teaching these classes at Wonderland for over 25 years.

Aquatic Zone

Swimming is not an extra mural in our view. It is a life skill that every child needs to learn. Aquatic Zone provides swimming lessons to our children in a fun and safe way. Their costs include transport, making sure the little swimmers are dry, warm and changed. They have a low ratio of kids to instructor – 2:1 for new swimmers 3:1 for more experienced children.
